Privacy policy

This is the personal website of Sawan Dobariya, based in London. This page explains what the site collects and why. In short, there is no tracking, no advertising and no cookie that follows you around.
What the site collects
Nothing, unless you send me a message. There are no analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies, and the site does not build a profile of you.
Messages you send
If you use the contact form, I receive your name, your email address and your message. They are saved in my private Google Sheet and used only to reply to you. I delete them within 12 months, or sooner if you ask. If you email me instead, the email stays in my mailbox.
What your browser keeps
If you choose Remember my choices, the site keeps your profile choice, your motion setting and a copy of the latest content in your browser's local storage, so the next visit is faster and looks the way you left it. If you choose Only essential, it keeps only that choice. The site also notes, for the open tab only, that you have seen the opening animation. None of this is sent to me, and you can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.
Services the site uses
The words and pictures are loaded from Google Apps Script and Google Drive, and contact messages are sent there. Google receives your IP address when that happens, as with any website you visit. The company that hosts the site may keep short server logs, such as IP addresses, for security. The fonts are served by this site, not by a font service.
Why I am allowed to
I handle your message because you chose to send it, and I keep the site secure because I have a legitimate interest in doing so. I never sell or share your details.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete anything you have sent me by emailing sawandobariya.uk@gmail.com. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
